Normally you hear Soho Housing Association tenants views through "independent" assessors, who then go on to join the board of Soho Housing Association. Get the truth, direct from a tenant, here.

Why doesn’t Soho Housing care about its bad reputation?

oneI used to be baffled at the thinly veiled insolence shown by Soho Housing to some tenants. For example it is not unusual to find the glossy newsletter, as in the most recent edition, leading with an article gloating about two tenants who have just been evicted.

I have come to the conclusion that when an organisation has friends in high places, as Soho Housing does, it will naturally evince sentiments of contempt for its more unpopular clients. There is no need for Soho Housing to engage with us, as, when it stops harassing us, it can rely on the harassment to be continued by Westminster City Police, and , then, when as a result of a complaint to the police complaints authority, the police harassment pauses briefly, the baton can be taken up by Westminster City Council.

Westminster City Council is running my harassment at present, the police having taken a break as a result of a complaint I made. Ironically, they actually have more power than the police when it comes to invading your privacy and entering your home for no particular reason. Their factotum Yeno Thorli is the present all powerful harasser, who is obviously determined to enter my home for, apparently no reason other than curiosity.two

This takes me back to an earlier post, in which an unknown person tried to let themself into my flat, using a key supplied by Soho Housing. Was that person Yeno Thorli? Perhaps Yeno Thorli visits my flat regularly while I am out.  There seems to be nothing in law to prevent council officials like Yeno Thorli behaving like cat burglars.

Soon after I posted it last week, this blog was hacked and the first paragraph of this post deleted. Here is what the hackers did not want you to see:

There is very little for housing officers to do at Soho Housing.

Maintenance and repairs are farmed out to an unreliable contractor, because that is the cheapest option. Other matters are farmed out to a new, commercial arm of Soho Housing Association,  Soho Ltd.

It may be that Soho Housing Association was always intended to morph one day into Soho Ltd. For the time being however, it appears desirable that Soho Housing  retain the appearance of being a charitable housing association and, to this end, a skeleton staff of housing officers is maintained. Steven Baker is one of these few.

It is not clear what Steven Baker has to do all day. Apart from forcing me to entertain him in my flat, his only service to me as a tenant has been to send me around a dozen letters, threatening me with ASBO proceedings and to spread nefarious rumours about me to Westminster Council and anybody else, who will listen.

As housing officers do not usually wish to remain long in the employ of Soho Housing Association, I expect that Steven Baker will soon be looking for another job. As he has shown such interest in my welfare, I would like to repay the favour by giving him a job reference. Here it is:

This person shows a good deal of favouritism when he is dealing with tenants. The slightest grumble about me from my upstairs neighbour is treated by him as a reason to begin ASBO proceedings, however, when the situation is reversed and I have occasion to complain about my neighbours, Steven Baker takes no action to redress the problem.

On the plus side, he has shown a lively, if lurid imagination, when writing and speaking to all and sundry about me, and I would recommend him for work as a writer of fiction. Good luck.

Soho Housing Association: Why there is no escape.

I continue to receive mail in the name of Mr A Ryan. I also received a copy of a letter signed by Steven Baker of Soho Housing Association. The letter states six bare-faced lies about me. Although it is addressed to me, it is obviously really intended to be read by the other agencies it is copied to and to portray me yet again as insane, incompetent and unworthy to hold a tenancy. From this I deduce that Soho Housing Association and its cohort of bent policemen and crooked council officials are once again hatching a plot to harass me out of my tenancy. I will say more about Steven Baker of Soho Housing Association, in my next post.

They are likely to succeed in getting rid of me eventually, because they spend the rent money on highly competent lawyers, whereas the rent payers can only afford special bad lawyers for poor people.

There is no escape from the malevolence  of Soho Housing Association.

It is reasonable, in the circumstances, to ask why I do not take my own advice and look for another landlord. There are many reasons why I should not do that, but the main reason is:

The sad truth is that there is no escape from the malevolence of Soho Housing Association and my only hope of any alleviation of my circumstances is to remain exactly where I am for as long as I can.

The reason there is no escape from the malevolence of Soho Housing Association is that, as I have learned from the Police Complaints Commission, a police section to a mental hospital is recorded as an arrest. This explains why most police officers I have met, prefer to fit people up for the mental hospital, rather than chase criminals, as it is quicker, safer and less trouble to lock up innocent people and the arrest total will be the same.

This means that when Soho Housing Association caused me to be abducted and imprisoned in the insane asylum, it thereby ensured that I would be on the police database for the rest of my life. Presumably this is why they felt they needed to break into my flat and remove me under section, rather than extend a civilised invitation, which I could accept or decline.

My police record, courtesy of Soho Housing Association, follows me wherever I go, including internationally. This has been proved repeatedly, whenever I have left home for days, weeks or months. Wherever I go in the world, there is a police reception waiting for me, when I arrive.

It may be just one police helicopter, circling in the sky above, but there have also been occasions when the local police have rushed to the spot, sirens blaring, only to wander around aimlessly when they arrive, as there is actually nothing for them to do. But they always make sure that I am minutely monitored while I am in their area, using the TETRA equipment with which they are supplied. This TETRA equipment is so intrusive and unnatural that its use constitutes a form of torture.

Naturally the police are happy to use this TETRA torture on me and thousands like me, but their joy may be short-lived as, according  to Dr Barry Trower, the police officers who use it are now all getting cancer.

But, there is no need for me to leave the country, or even my area, to be aware of the constant surveillance I am under. I have only to go into any department store. I can expect to be met there by solicitous enquiries after my (mental) health, the staff having been warned by “security”, that a well known nutcase was about to enter the building. And “security” makes sure I leave the shop as soon as possible, keeping a close eye on me, all the time I am there.

Soho Housing Association Breaking into your flat 3

ImageHere is a copy of my latest correspondence with Westminster Council Environmental Health.

Dear Ian Hennessy

I acknowledge receipt of your letter of 14 May on which I make the following points.

  1. You say that the flat was found in a dirty condition. I refrained from cleaning it when I knew of your visit since I wanted to demonstrate that the smell is not coming from my flat.
  2. For a very long time there has been a bad smell in the corridor but you have done nothing about it. You can see that it is not attributable to my flat. Accordingly, I request you to deal with the smell as a matter of urgency.
  3. As a matter of general comment, I dislike the tone of your letter. You have not found anything about which you are making requirements and I feel an apology would be in order.
  4. I also dislike the suggestion in your letter that I have psychiatric problems that are causing problems with which you have to be involved. It is irrelevant to any environmental health issue whether or not I have support from any other organisation.

Needless to say, I have received no apology from Ian Hennessy and Soho Housing Association has done nothing whatever to locate the cause of the alleged smell in the corridor of the building, even though they professed to be so concerned about its importance that they had to call out Ian Hennessy, the Westminster Council Environmental Health inspector to deal with it.

I said in my last post that Soho Housing Association is using the same corrupt departments of Westminster City Council and the same corrupt elements of Westminster City police against me, as it did before, and now it appears they may be about to repeat the police scam they did earlier.

It is a very simple scam: I found myself receiving a large number of debt demands in the name of a person who did not live at my address. A police warrant was obtained in the name of this person, who is, in fact, dead and my home was broken into on the basis of this warrant.

I am now receiving a large number of debt demands in the name of a Mr A Ryan, who may or may not be dead. All efforts to contact the debt collectors have failed and, for all I know, a warrant is being applied for as I write.

This kind of scam has no consequences for the police. On the previous occasion I could complain to the Police Complaints Commission, but the police had only to say that they sincerely believed that the dead person lived at my address, to get the matter dropped. If I were to do the same thing now, they would not even have to answer the complaint.  On past showing, they would simply refuse to record it on the grounds that it was repetitive.

Soho Housing Association, breaking into your flat 2

ImageSince I was reluctantly and tardily released from the mental asylum, Soho Housing Association has not stopped trying to put me back in there, and, since I have started this blog, Soho Housing Association has redoubled its efforts to put me away and steal my flat from me.

Incredibly, they are using exactly the same methods, corrupt tenants and corrupt departments of Westminster Council that they used before!

I received a letter from one such department, whose officer has invited himself to my flat. If I don’t let him in, he will break in, but he ends the letter, cheerily, “See you next Thursday”.

Here is my reply:

Sir,

Regarding your proposal to make an informal visit to my flat on 25th April.

I do not engage in informal arrangements with officers of Westminster Council.

I will be seeing my solicitor today, Tuesday and we will send a formal reply to your proposal, which will be copied to your supervisor, Steve Harrison. If you are unwilling to wait to receive the reply that we will send to your letter, and are determined to obtain a warrant of entry, please make sure that warrant is lawfully obtained, and not by perjury, as was the case with the last warrant obtained by Westminster Council. I am at present engaged in seeking redress from George Christian, the officer who unlawfully obtained it.

I look forward to not seeing you next Thursday.

At the last break-in by Soho Housing Association, which ended with my indefinite incarceration in the asylum, I also arranged to see a solicitor. Somehow, it seems that Soho Housing Association found out the date that I was to see the solicitor and they broke in the day before. How did they find out? Perhaps their favourite tenants, who work in the Metropolitan Police Service tipped them off.

Soho Housing Association: breaking into your flat

breakAlthough Soho Housing Association is always inviting itself to visit you in your flat, it does not like to be seen as breaking into its tenants’ flats. However, break-ins do occur and as the flats cannot be accessed without the co-operation of Soho Housing Association, it is safe to say that they aid and abet these break-ins.

My life as a tenant of Soho Housing Association has been marked by a continuous threat that my home will be broken into by contractors or other associates of Soho Housing Association and on three occasions this has actually happened. The most recent occasion was the time when Soho Housing Association applied to have me imprisoned indefinitely in a mental  hospital. The time before that, my flat was broken into by Westminster Council, again with the connivance of Soho Housing Association.  Before that, Soho Housing Association allowed Westminster City Police to break into my flat on an obviously fake warrant.

Apart from the actual break-ins listed above,    I have suffered numerous events of people purporting to be contractors for Soho Housing Association, banging on my door or ringing my doorbell in an intimidating fashion. I was terrorised by one particular contractor, who bore a strong resemblance to a police officer who had been involved in a previous break-in. This person would turn on his electric drill and stand outside my front door with it. The sound was reminiscent of the sound made by the locksmith when he breaks into my flat on their behalf. They always employ the same locksmith. He seems very enthusiastic about his work and it must earn him a good living.
